Here to Answer Your Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Are your services covered by Alberta Health?
Yes! All of our medical services are covered by Alberta Health. This includes our breastfeeding support. Only sedation and Movement Appointments with Mackenzie are billed outside of Alberta Health.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
THIS IS A NEW CHANGE. Consults are NOT required for PAP Tests, IUD and Nexplanon appointments, Lactation Support and contraception. A consult is required for all other services. This allows us to properly schedule patients with the right provider for their care needs.
How do I book in?
Please get a consult from your physician. We will contact you with an appointment date. If you are unable to make this time, you can contact our office to reschedule.
For appointment not requiring a referral, please call and leave a message with your name and number to reach you at.
What do I bring to my appointment?
Prior to your appointment our clinic will send you a handout if anything is required.
Can I come if I currently have my period?
Yes! Your period should never prevent you from accessing care.
If I am taking bioidentical hormones can I book in?
Yes. We do not prescribe bioidentical hormones at Femina Health. We are happy to discuss your menopausal transition and review management.
Do I need to shave or wax prior to my appointment?
No. All vulvas are beautiful, come as you are.
